Naomi Achong graduated from the University of Queensland and completed her specialist training in endocrinology and obstetric medicine at the Royal Brisbane and Women’s hospital and the Princess Alexandra Hospital. Naomi has a special interest in T2DM, obesity management and transgender health care. She currently works privately at Carina and Browns Plains.

René Hinton is a credentialled Diabetes Educator and a Nurse Practitioner. She achieved her Master of Nurse Practitioner in 2018. Other qualifications include a Bachelor of Applied Science (Nursing), Graduate Certificate in Paediatric Nursing, Graduate Certificate in Diabetes Education and Certificates in Business and Project Management. She has been a Diabetes Educator since 1996, achieving her initial credentialing with the Australian Diabetes Educators Association (ADEA) in 2004. She is passionate about helping people with diabetes to live their best lives by teaching them how to self-manage their condition. Rene’ was awarded the Queensland State Winner ‘CDE of the Year’ in 2015.
René is one of the principal owners of Diabetes Complete Care, a private service for people of all ages with all types of diabetes located in Buderim. She is also employed part time with the public hospital Sunshine Coast Endocrinology and Diabetes Service.

Gaurav is an Endocrinologist and the Clinical Director of Endocrinology & Diabetes at Logan Hospital. Gaurav is also the current Chair of Queensland Statewide Diabetes Clinical Network. He graduated in 2003 and has since worked in various health services including NHS and WA health. He has called Queensland his Home State for the since 2016. Nationally, he has contributed significantly towards the development of recently published Australian National Diabetes Strategy 2021-2031, and he also led the award-winning VOICeD program for Clinical Excellence Queensland.
Gaurav is very passionate about health equity, sustainability and building system capacity by establishing integrated models of patient centred care delivery with a primary intent of co-designing services with the help of the consumers, for the consumers and by the consumers. He is currently enrolled into Master of Health Leadership & Management from UNSW as well as fellowship training program for RACMA (Royal Australasian College of Medical Administration).
Clinically, he specialises in general endocrinology including thyroid, parathyroid, bone & calcium metabolism, pituitary, adrenal, male & female reproduction, Type 1 and Type 2 diabetes mellitus. He also takes special interest in management metabolic syndrome and obesity including peri as well as long term post-operative bariatric surgery care.

Dr. Jeremy So graduated UQ in 2015 and is a Fellow GP currently working in the Bundaberg Region. He has a passion for chronic disease and preventative medicine. With a background in clinical pharmacy, Dr. Jeremy enjoys helping patients nagivate and overcome the challenges of obesity and complex diabetes. His other interests include mental health, paediatrics, skin medicine and palliative care. He has a busy home life with 3 young children, and in his limited spare time, enjoys playing music, photography and the outdoors.

The Novo Nordisk Meeting Secretariat will work with venues and suppliers to ensure they have current COVID-19 safety procedures in place as per the state and federal recommendations, additional information is available here.
A number of measures have been put in place as part for government guidelines and restrictions as well as in line for COVID safety practices. Further information will be outlined in your registration confirmation, however, please do not hesitate to contact the Meeting Secretariat if you have any questions. Hand sanitiser and face masks will be available for attendees whilst a maximum of five attendees per table will be allowed.
