Discover which patients are suitable for GLP-1 RAs and Ozempic®, including discussion on the impact of potential comorbidities and safety considerations.

Striking up a conversation – What is best practice when starting a GLP-1 RA?

Gain practical advice on how to discuss starting a GLP-1 RA, address any potential injection barriers and manage side effects. Includes a hands-on demonstration of the Ozempic® pen.

Navigating treatment combinations – What to do and what not to do?

Understand when and how to use Ozempic® in combination with insulin and other type 2 diabetes agents. Includes PBS and safety considerations and use as replacement vs an add-on therapy.

Clinical curveballs – What would the expert do?

Determine the suitability of Ozempic® for more complex clinical cases including use in the elderly, and in those with renal/hepatic impairment or cardiovascular disease.

Dr Parind Vora

Endocrinologist

Dr Parind Vora is a Fellow of Royal the Australasian College of Physicians. He has completed dual Fellowships in Endocrinology and General and Acute Care Medicine. He undertook his Specialist training at the Royal Adelaide, Hobart and North Shore hospitals; Flinders Medical Centre and Repatriation General Hospital. Dr Vora has special interest in Diabetes, Thyroid diseases and Osteoporosis.

Dr Vora started consulting at Nunyara House in March 2013. Dr Vora holds a Staff Specialist position as an Endocrinologist and General Physician at the Lyell McEwin Hospital (North Adelaide Local Health Network). Dr Vora has also completed higher studies and holds a Masters degree in Public Health from the University of Western Sydney and has a great interest in epidemiology and preventive medicine.

He enjoys golf, badminton and has a keen interest in current world affairs.

Parking

Self parking will be available onsite at the Adelaide Convention & Exhibition Centre, further information and instructions will be provided in your confirmation email.  You will have the opportunity within the registration form to advise if you wish to have parking arranged.   

COVID-19 Safety Measures

The Novo Nordisk Meeting Secretariat will work with venues and suppliers to ensure they have current COVID-19 safety procedures in place as per the state and federal recommendations, additional information is available here.

A number of measures have been put in place as part for government guidelines and restrictions as well as in line for COVID safety practices. Further information will be outlined in your registration confirmation, however, please do not hesitate to contact the Meeting Secretariat if you have any questions. Hand sanitiser and face masks will be available for attendees whilst a maximum of five attendees per table will be allowed.
